A true story of being "Ready to Die/ Life after Death" (Please read the whole post)

15 years ago, on March 9th, Christopher Wallace aka Biggie Smalls lost his life after complications from multiple gunshots. His sophomore album, Life After Death, was released 15 days later. He made a significant impact on music in general and specifically Hip Hop music, but I have always been troubled with the some of the many ways that he impacted the world. His impact on the art form of hip hop was great, as he was a true lyricist and took his work seriously. His impact on our minds is another. I believe that he did not have a true understanding of mortality and what comes after. His music though reflective of his life was filled with stories of immorality, drugs, violence, infidelity and a general lack of morality. What is worse that those around him as well as the public praised these stories and for some used them to fuel their own actions and lifestyle. I know many will say that it is only music (That's not true but,I'm not about to try and argue against that at this time) but there are few people on this earth who were around during that time who will not draw a connection between the music of that time period and his death. People will morn the loss of a musician without understanding that He was more than likely, NOT Ready to Die and his Life After Death, will likely be eternal suffering.

This was not meant to be a post about Biggie, but instead of someone who is truly Ready to Die. This person is not ready to die in the sense that he doesn't want to be here, but in the sense that his eternity is secure. Life after Death will be eternity with the creator of the Universe as well as you and I. This person's impact on this earth has, without a doubt, had positive eternal value. Lives have been saved due to his commitment to serve people. He served as a youth pastor in North Carolina, helping students to find salvation as well as helping them to develop their own relationship with God. He served the US Army as a soldier in Iraq and was among the first troops to arrive at the start of the war risking his life to help protect the people of the USA and Iraq. When he returned he and his wife sought God's direction for where they would serve in that time of transition. God spoke to them and called them to serve as missionaries in the country of Venezuela.

This brings me back to March 9th. Exactly one year ago, March 9th 2011, while traveling home from doing ministry and some meetings about 6-7 hrs away from home, he was in an accident. My post following the accident can be viewed HERE. Chris Nelson, a man who was truly "Ready to Die" in the sense that he had already accepted Christ as his savior, and having lived his life serving the Lord, and knowing without a doubt that his "Life After Death" would be spent in heaven free from the eternal torment so many are headed to. I remember that day being a day of uncertainty for me as a still not yet approved Missionary Associate, who was giving up all I knew in the US to serve alongside a Visionary, Leader, and most importantly Friend, and in that moment, his life still hung in the balance. I had new friends from Venezuela who were contacting me about the accident and his status, while wondering about his family who at the time, I could not contact, as well as the health of members of his team who were involved in the accident as well.

The Lord was not ready to take him. The Lord used him to reach people in that hospital. He has used his and Angela's story to call people to Him. He has given him an even greater vision for His church and His people in Venezuela. I was blessed to be called to partner with the Nelson family over a year ago and have been blessed throughout this time with as he has been healing and sharing this vision here in the United States. They are planing on returning to Venezuela this summer to continue and expand the ministry there, making sure that more people are "Ready to Die" and will have eternal "Life After Death". Are you "Ready to Die?" If not but you want to be, feel free to contact me with any questions.

I am hoping to have my budget completely raised by this summer so that I can take the next step towards getting to Venezuela.
